Gaga Let the 'R' Word Slip

In an interview with NME magazine, Lady Gaga used the word "retarded" after her song "Born This Way" was compared to Madonna's "Express Yourself."  I am a huge Gaga fan and I have to admit, I have been a little furious about people comparing the Mother Monster to Madonna, but until now Gaga has responded very well to the comments.  She said, "If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression," Gaga told NME. "It's the same one that's been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I'm the first f-ing artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plaigarist, it means I'm f-ing smart. Sorry."  Gaga has since apologized for the incident, and reached out to any of her fans who may have been hurt or offended by her comment."I consider it part of my life's work and music to push the boundaries of love and acceptance,” Gaga told CNN in a statement. “My apologies for not speaking thoughtfully. To anyone that was hurt, please know that it was furiously unintentional.  An honest mistake, requires honesty to make. Whether life's disabilities, left you outcast bullied or teased, rejoice and love yourself today."
